Station Hand – Bulgunnia, SA

Jumbuck are looking to appoint a permanent Station Hand on our Bulgunnia Station located about 5 hours drive north west of Port Augusta off the Stuart Highway.

Bulgunnia runs around 25,000 head of Merino sheep across approximately 700,000 acres with a permanent staff of 6. Led by an experienced manager, we are looking for someone passionate about working in the pastoral industry and being on the land to join the crew. Experience on 2-wheel motorbikes is an advantage along with previous sheep and / or livestock experience, however we are willing to invest the time to develop someone in these areas as needed. Accommodation suitable for a single person is available at the property.

Some of what you will be involved in:

  • Mustering of sheep on 2-wheel motorbikes
  • Water runs – checking various dams, bores and water points
  • Yard work and fencing
  • Various mechanical work including engine and small motor maintenance and servicing

The north west pastoral region is considered a remote and isolated part of the Australian Outback, so an appreciation for rural living and a sense of adventure will be needed! This is a great career opportunity for someone looking to further their pastoral career with one of Australia’s largest wool producers.

A competitive day rate (in line with experience) is on offer for the right person. Additionally, board & keep is provided, annual leave is up to 6 weeks per year and you will enter into the staff bonus structure from day 1.
