Temporary Station Hands – Mount Victor / McCoys Well, SA

We have several temporary positions available for station hands, or those willing to learn the job, at our Mount Victor and McCoys Well stations that are based nearby to Yunta on the Barrier Highway.

What’s the job?

Both stations will be coming up to shearing which will be a busy time and we are looking for extra hands during this 4 – 5 week period. The opportunity to continue beyond lamb-marking exists for the right people.

Working in a small team, you will primarily be involved in the stockwork including working in yards and, depending on skill and experience, in the mustering of stock on 2-wheel motorbikes. The work is physical by nature, so you will need to be appropriately fit and healthy.

From time-to-time, you will have the chance to be involved in other station jobs such as water runs and other mechanical work under supervision.

For those interested in working on a big station, but unsure if they are ready to make a full commitment, short-term work like this is a great opportunity to see what it’s all about.

What are we looking for?

Those with some farming experience behind them and keen to experience work on a big station are encouraged to apply. Additionally, those who work well in a team, listen closely and can follow instructions, have experience riding 2-wheel motorbikes and love being out bush will also find this job rewarding.

The stations are easily accessed by vehicle, about 4 hours drive from Adelaide or less from the Clare Valley region.

A competitive day rate is on offer in line with experience. In addition, single-person accommodation, meals on working days and living costs on station, such as utilities and wifi, are all provided.

An immediate start is available, so applications will be reviewed on receipt – make sure you get yours in today!
