We have an opportunity available for a full-time Overseer for Plumbago; an Outstation of Mount Victor Station near Yunta in South Australia. Mount Victor has capacity for 30,000 merino sheep across a well-resourced and maintained property of 500,000 acres.
The position is suited to a Senior or Leading Station Hand who is looking to take the next step in their career or an Overseer on a smaller property wanting a bigger challenge.
The Overseer reports directly to the Station Manager and will have responsibility for maintaining watering points, station infrastructure repairs and servicing along with stock management and husbandry. Strong mechanical and practical experience will be an advantage.
As a largely independent role, you will need to be a motivated self-starter capable of forward planning who is able to lead when required. Strong communication skills are a must and preferably have experience training and developing junior workers.
Remuneration will be in line with experience and Plumbago offers an air-conditioned, 4-bedroom homestead; set against a backdrop of granite hills that are home to colonies of Yellow-Footed Rock Wallabys. 24-hour power with an outfitted workshop and vehicle is on site and the station is well connected – just a short drive to Yunta and 4-hour drive to Adelaide. The iconic Flinders Ranges and wine regions of the Clare Valley are nearby.
